MNT token acts like the native gas and governance token for the Mantle Network. It is a critical energy source that serves the ecosystem through transactions, governance, and incentivization within the network. The total supply of MNT gets to a whopping 6.2 billion tokens, 51% circulating and 49% allocated to the Mantle Treasury. What is the History of Mantle  (MNT) Network?

Initially floated in 2022 by Jordi Alexander and Arjun Krishan Kalsy, the Mantle Network was envisioned as an extension of Ethereum's capabilities in smart contracts. Originally a sponsored Layer-2 build of BitDAO, its Testnet was launched in January 2023.
